Sometimes, it’s really fun to play with kayfabe.
During an interview with CBS Boston, Dean Ambrose was asked about cashing in his Money in the Bank contract at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view last night (June 19, 2016) in Paradise, Nevada. More specifically, he was asked if he would have done it if Roman Reigns had defeated Seth Rollins.
“I woulda whacked him right in the back of the head with that briefcase,” he said.
Then he explained why he cashed in the same night he earned the ability to:
“Here’s the thing: I’m prone to losing things. I lose my keys and my sunglasses and my hat, I’ll lose my shoes. I lose everything. So the thought of carrying that briefcase around for a year, in the airport and going from hotel to hotel and building to building carrying around that ridiculous briefcase, I was like, ‘I’m gonna lose this thing. There’s no way I’m going to be able to keep track of this friggin thing for six months or a year, let’s just get to it tonight and let’s get this sucker out of my hands and get something else in my hands.’”
This saves us from having to deal with constant teases for the next however many months but it also saves Ambrose from having to lug that ugly briefcase around with him everywhere.
That’s just good stuff.
