Though it's a little lighter than usual, the card for next week's NXT live special, TakeOver: The End... looks to be in place.
That's because coming out of last night's 'go home' episode on WWE Network, Tye Dillinger asked for a chance.
A #Perfect10 victory tonight on @WWENXT but I do have a question....how can you have an #NXTTakeOver The End without a #Perfect10 ?
— Dillinger (@WWEDillinger) June 2, 2016
Perhaps I should ask @RealKingRegal that question, Or maybe we all should...
— Dillinger (@WWEDillinger) June 2, 2016
@RealKingRegal has never been shy about giving earned opportunity. In nearly 15 years I have never asked for anything, I've simply tried...
— Dillinger (@WWEDillinger) June 2, 2016
To earn it. I'm asking now. @RealKingRegal ...give the #Perfect10 a shot at @WWENXT #TakeOver:TheEnd
— Dillinger (@WWEDillinger) June 2, 2016
As the Perfect Ten points out, he was coming off a win. Plus, his star has been rising with fans and he has a great reputation with the boys in the back, so the General Manager's quick reply wasn't shocking:
I love when I can accommodate talented competitors' requests. @WWEDillinger, you will compete at #NXTTakeOver against, @AndradeCienWWE!
— William Regal (@RealKingRegal) June 2, 2016
Dillinger will get another opportunity to make someone WWE has big plans for look great in their on-screen debut when he faces Andrade "Cien" Almas.
While it's not the individual push many were hoping for, it's still a vote of confidence. And he has been picking up victories in between jobs like this one against the former La Sombra, as well as headlining house shows.
This rounds out a card for June 8 which now stands at five total matches:
- Samoa Joe (c) vs. Finn Bálor in a steel cage for the NXT title
- Nia Jax vs. Asuka (c) for the NXT Women's championship
- American Alpha (c) vs. The Revival for the NXT Tag Team championship
- Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Austin Aries
- Tye Dillinger vs. Andrade "Cein" Almas
Like what you see?
