John Cena will not be burying AJ Styles with Smarks

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - TNA’s Slammiversary pay-per-view (PPV), the June 13 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's TNA Impact, Wednesday's Lucha Underground, WWE NXT and ROH TV, Thursday's SmackDown and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from June 12 - 18, 2016.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

For anyone else hoping to win this year, or possibly even a week within this year...

Foregoing the bullet points where I smart-assedly reference what the performers did two weeks back to earn your votes, because it pretty much falls into one of three categories: they are or are in a program with AJ Styles, they wrestled at TakeOver: The End... or they star in The Kevin Owens Show.

I will say that I really, really thought AJ might have his first non-top 2 finish of the year (measured Mania to Mania for our purposes) - and about halfway through my tabulation, it seemed like he'd finish third at best... and maybe even fifth.

When he pulled in front of The Revival and American Alpha before I even got to the last 25% of the vote, I figured it was because while some ballots assigned tag teams to two slots, most didn't, so Dash & Dawson were splitting points that the Phenomenal One was taking on his own.

But by the time it was all said and done, it wasn't even close. I didn't run simulations or anything, but there's a good chance he'd have won even if everyone who voted for the two-time NXT tag champs put them in first and second place.

Y'all really, really, really love AJ.
