Today’s Rumor Roundup teased it, and Ring of Honor (ROH) has confirmed it.
Amidst numerous complaints about the Terminal 5 venue they had been using in the New York City market - namely poor visibility from the crowd to the ring - ROH announced they’ll return to a venue they’ve been closely associated with throughout their history, the Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center.

Hammerstein was also the home to several ECW events during that promotion’s heyday, and was used by TNA on one of their runs in the city. ROH stopped using the space when the management wanted the Sinclair Broadcasting-owned promotion to pay for use of their cameras and production crew rather than using their own.
When fan complaints about Terminal 5 reached a fever pitch after the last night of their Global Wars tour with New Japan last month, ROH began investigating other options. They view running New York, especially for major shows like Final Battle, as key to their business.
It’s unclear what agreement they came to with Hammerstein on cost - which could be passed on to customers in the form of higher ticket prices - but the December date is reportedly not a one-off. PWInsider says they’ll run the Ballroom several times throughout 2017.
Excited, New York fans?
