Bobby Lashley wins the TNA Championship at Slammiversary

TNA Wrestling Twitter

In the main event of Slammiversary tonight, Bobby Lashley defeated Drew Galloway to win the TNA title.

It was a match with the stipulation that they could only win by knockout or tap out, which gave mixed martial artist Lashley an advantage. At end of a match which contained spots that left both men a little bloodied, Lashley locked in a choke on Drew Galloway. The now former champ ended up passing out in the hold.

This is the third TNA title win for the Destroyer Lashley, who also competes in MMA promotion Bellator. Bobby will have his hands full defending his title, with a handful of young guys on the cusp of challenging him for it.

One of those guys is Ethan Carter III. EC3 who won his match tonight against Mike Bennett, and he & Bobby Lashley have already had a couple face-to-face stare downs. It could be a big match up down the line.

Congratulations to Lashley on his third TNA title win.
