Considering it was Memorial Day and the show was up against both the NBA and NHL Playoffs, there was a belief this week's episode of Monday Night Raw could see an all time low viewership total.
Nope!
While the Warriors vs. Thunder NBA game did almost 16 million viewers and the Sharks vs. Penguins NHL game did just over 4 million, Raw garnered 3.22 million viewers, down from 3.27 million last week.
The hourly breakdown is encouraging:
Hour one: 3.28 million
Hour two: 3.32 million
Hour three: 3.08 million
John Cena's return, strategically promoted for weeks and placed at halftime of the NBA game, seemed to have its intended effect. They they managed to stay about 3 million viewers in the third hour, considering how painful those first two hours were, Cena segment aside, might as well be considered a miracle.
