Call him "broken" or call him "crazy", but something is seriously wrong with Matt Hardy.
And I understand this is a kayfabe character he's playing on TNA Impact Wrestling, showcasing how his wars with Ethan Carter III, Drew Galloway and his brother Jeff have changed him into a deranged madman.
His latest gimmick tweak is so ridiculous it's great. For the latest iteration of Hardy-on-Hardy violence, Matt has gone full camp, dressing like a vampiric pirate, speaking in an accent that changes three times in each sentence... all while plotting his brother's demise. It's a distinctly pro wrestling kind of glorious.
But I still think there's something seriously wrong with him.
There's no other way to explain the "shocking" final moments of this week's Impact, where Matt - having successfully lured Jeff to the training facility on his estate in the Carolina countryside with the promise of finally signing the contract for their Full Metal Mayhem match at the upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view (PPV) - has his wife, Reby Sky, toss a fake version of his son Maxell to his brother so he smash some object which magically appears in his hand over the head of "brother Nero", setting him up for a Side Effect off the apron and through a table.
Seriously. See for yourself:

The music. The Tommy Wiseau-esque editing. That freaking accent!
It's not only over, brother Nero. I don't think it will ever be topped.
