Lucha Underground results, live blog (May 4, 2016): No Más

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of Lucha Underground in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on El Rey Network.

Geno will be keeping you up on of all the happenings in Boyle Heights here while the show airs. Bill Hanstock will also bring you a recurring reactions post every week after the show. In addition to a way for folks to keep up, this space is for you to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the hottest new concept to hit pro wrestling in ages - during its initial broadcast!

Catrina met Dario Cueto in his office. They argued about who almost destroyed who in the Mil Muertes vs. Matanza Lucha Underground title match. Dario laughed off Catrina talking about denying Mil a rematch. Cueto may be scared but Matanza fears nothing. The rematch was announced for next week and Dario even suggested a Grave Consequences match. Catrina accepted while saying "you are much braver than I thought."

Then, the other shoe dropped.

"Why have one coffin when we can have four? Next week will be Graver Consequences," Cueto said.

"I like the way you think," replied Catrina. "After next week, there will be no question who destroyed who."

"I'm counting on it."

Marty The Moth vs. The Mack

It was announced this is for one of the ancient Aztec medallions.

Mack came out aggressive and just started beating the brakes off Marty. Once he recovered and took control, he went full creep on Melissa Santos, taking his shirt off and throwing it at her. You could hear her scream. He's a creep. Mack made a comeback shortly after, though, and hit the Stunner for the pin.

They did a backstage bit with King Cuerno and Catrina going back and forth over an Aztec medallion. Cuerno then made some threats about Mil Muertes, in the event he wins the Lucha Underground championship back next week.

Sexy Star entered Dario's office. He said he's seen the change in her eyes, and that's how he knows something happened to her. Then he told a story about his mother being an "evil bitch" and doing cruel things to him and his brother. He said the only way they could stop it was to stand up and say "no more."

That's what Sexy Star will have the chance to do tonight against Mariposa, when the two have a match for an Aztec medallion. He made it a No Mas match and encouraged Sexy Star not to stop even when Mariposa screams "no mas." That's the only way she can get rid of that look in her eyes.

Sexy Star said she understood and left.

Sinestro De La Muerte vs. King Cuerno

Commentary openly wondered how Sinestro would do wrestling on his own without being in six man. He was getting beaten handily until Catrina interfered by hitting Cuerno in the head when he went for the Arrow from the Depths of Hell. That gave Sinestro time to get in and finish him off.

Catrina followed this up like she was going to give him the Lick of Death but just pushed his head to the mat.

Chavo Guerrero demanded to know why he isn't in a match for one of the Aztec medallions. Dario Cueto told him he doesn't deserve one because Chavo has always failed to cease the opportunity.

"You want me to seize the opportunity, huh? No problem," Chavo said as he walked out.

Dario no sold him.

Famous B interrupted Melissa's introduction of the next match. He did the intro himself.

Mascarita Sagrada vs. Cage

It was noted that Cage has already earned an Aztec medallion, so maybe he's just defending his? They didn't make that clear at first, and then he handed his medallion to the referee smiling and laughing about the prospect of the little person standing a chance against a man of his size and build.

The match was hardly a match. Cage squashed him, literally.

Famous B got in the ring and Cage was distracted enough for Chavo to jump in and steal his medallion before running off with Cage chasing him.

Sexy Star vs. Mariposa

As mentioned, this was a "No Mas" match for an Aztec medallion. They put the match over by bringing up the I Quit match The Rock and Mick Foley had at Royal Rumble where Foley took a million chair shots and said he was "never the same again."

That's ... an interesting promotional tactic.

The match spilled to the outside and all around The Temple like these matches tend to do. Foreign objects were used. They actually went all the way up and were in the damn rafters fighting and teasing like someone was going to take a drop. Instead, they climbed back down to the relative safety of the top of Dario's office.

Sexy Star was bleeding. Marty The Moth showed up at that moment and climbed on top of Dario's roof to attack. He sent Sexy Star into the barricade and celebrated before The Mack showed up and threw him off and away. As they went at it, Sexy Star continued her battle with Mariposa.

Once they got back down to ringside, they did a spot where Mariposa picked Sexy Star up and threw her head into the desk Vampiro and Striker were sitting at on commentary. Still, she battled back and used a trash can to put Mariposa down. That drew a "holy shit" chant and Striker said that's "a term that has become synonymous with Lucha Underground." Then he put Star over by saying she's showing more fight than most grown men he knows.

Back in the ring, Mariposa locked on a submission and when the referee asked Sexy Star about quitting, she literally said "fuck you all, fuck you, Mariposa." Then she got out and put a rear naked choke on Mariposa. Marty The Moth showed up and blasted her in the back to get her off, so apparently he got the best of The Mack. Nope! Sexy Star ducked a clothesline and Mack showed up to hit a Stunner.

Then Sexy Star got an armbar in and Mariposa said "no mas."

The Mack helped her up and handed her the Aztec medallion. She couldn't believe it. He held her arm up and then she hugged him tight.
