Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- The move to Tuesdays was a response to USA being unhappy with SmackDown's ratings, per Wrestling Observer, and WWE is planning to make the show "equal to Raw" after July 19 to help address that.
- Another part of that plan includes moving John Cena to Tuesdays. The proven draw is one of the only names who have a destination penciled in for the brand split.
- The Observer also reports that the final Money in the Bank ladder match spot will not go to Cena.
- WWE planned to reveal the final entrant on the May 30th Raw, but when they found out their would be a NBA playoff game competing with them (in addition to the holiday and the hockey game) that news and everything which wasn't heavily hyped in advance (like Cena and Goldberg) were pulled back.
- While the Barclays Center still lists the 2016 TakeOver: Brooklyn on their website, both TicketMaster and WWE.com removed it from their schedules as of yesterday - adding fuel to the rumors that TakeOver: The End... might be the end of the brand or NXT live specials all together.
