Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- The other half of Vince McMahon's way-too-early WrestleMania 33 plan has Brock Lesnar vs. The Rock co-main eventing with the Taker/Cena match we mentioned yesterday.
- Enzo Amore's concussion from Payback was described as "real bad" by the Observer. Other sources say WWE is planning to be without him for a little while, and are planning to feature Colin Cassady frequently to keep the team on fans' minds in Amore's absence.
- Despite having some extra time on Sunday's show, officials decided to not run Emma vs. Becky Lynch, even though both women were in Chicago, ready to go and even teased the match on social media.
- Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus was also in the plans last week, but ruled out at some point. They're still possible for Extreme Rules.
- There's no long-term plan for Baron Corbin, which explains why he's already being booked like the average mid-card guy.
