Rumor Roundup (May 19, 2016): AJ Styles plans, Seth Rollins return, Stephanie McMahon book, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • The Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles match at Extreme Rules is expected to be the last match in their feud, at least on pay-per-view. It's at least possible that the direction going forward will be Styles opposite Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and that's how they transition out of it.
  • It looks likely Seth Rollins will be a heel when he returns to WWE television.
  • There's some speculation that the reason Stephanie McMahon has been playing babyface more on WWE television of late is because of her recently announced book deal.
  • According to the Observer, Steve Lombardi, better known as Brooklyn Brawler, was released by WWE at least partially due to a "small mistake he made that gave them cause for letting him go." Whatever that means.
  • Pro Wrestling Sheet reported Alex Reyes believes he was released by WWE at least in part because of how much of a wrestling fan he is.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
