General Manager William Regal provided the NXT Universe with a state of the tag team division address from his office on the latest episode (May 18), congratulating Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady and the Vaudevillains for their success on Raw and SmackDown.
Their achievements on the main roster in such a short amount of time are testament to the strength of NXT's tag wrestling, something we'll see more of in three weeks at TakeOver on June 8 from Ful Sail when The Revival use their rematch clause to try and reclaim the championship from American Alpha.
Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder have faced Chad Gable & Jason Jordan many times since TakeOver: Dallas (including once at the tapings which made up the past three episodes on WWE Network, although that was apparently a dark match, since it hasn't been shown and they're filming again tomorrow night) - but unlike the other announced match for the next live special, their house show work doesn't appear to count.
The Revival/Alpha rematch joins Finn Bálor vs. Samoa Joe's steel cage match for the NXT title as the only two officially announced matches for the still un-subtitled TakeOver. Nia Jax did establish herself as a front runner for a shot at Asuka's title with her win over Bayley, which would help them avoid having all three championship bouts be rematches of Dallas.
But the rest of the card will have to be fleshed out at the May 19 taping.
Stay tuned.
