Young Bucks pull out of NJPW Best of the Super Juniors tournament due to injuries

New Japan will be missing both members of their hottest tag team when the BOSJ tournament kicks off this week.

The 23rd annual New Japan Best of the Super Juniors tournament will kick off on Saturday night, but Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks, initially announced as being part of the field of 16 participants, will not be competing due to injuries.

On Monday, Nick and Matt posted the following statement on their Facebook page:

Sorry NJPW fans, we unfortunately will not be competing in this years Best of Super Junior Tournament in Japan, as previously announced. Both of us suffered injuries while competing in Toronto last week. I (Matt) suffered a hand injury, & Nick suffered a rib injury (in the same match!) Luckily, the injuries are fairly minor & we should both be back to competing in the next 4-6 weeks. Thank you for the continued support! We have the greatest fans in the world. We'll see you soon.

Matt was originally slated to be part of BOSJ Block A, along with BUSHI, Gedo, Kyle O'Reilly, Matt Sydal, Rocky Romero and Ryusuke Taguchi. Nick was to be over in Block B, taking on Beretta, Bobby Fish, Jushin Liger, Ricochet, Tiger Mask IV, Volador Jr. and Will Ospreay.

No replacements for the Bucks have been announced at this time.
