You needed something special to follow Steve Austin in Texas.
That job went to the Street Fight between Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose.
As promised, the Lunatic Fringe went right at the Beast Incarnate, and got three quick German Suplexes for his trouble. Heading to the outside, Ambrose grabbed a kendo stick and lit up Brock... and got two more Suplexes for it. And some muay thai knees. And another suplex.
Ambrose got rag dolled around, despite his obvious chutzpah. Then Lesnar started toying with him. But that opened him up for the one weakness of the Anomaly...
A nut shot.
Having studied Undertaker's game plan, Dean got some momentum. A chair and the threat of a chainsaw helped.
Until he got hit with an 11th suplex, this one off the top rope. The former Shield-man is crazy like a fox, however. And suplexes were met with plunder, in this case a fire extinguisher blast to eyes and a drop kick through a steel chair! The next move was an elbow drop onto Lesnar's face, with a steel chair in between. And with Paul Heyman screaming for his client to get up, Ambrose hit it.
That move could only get a two count, though, so the Lunatic Fringe emptied the under ring area of chairs so he could... walk into another suplex. This one at least had Brock land on the chairs. The Beast rose, however, and put Dean on his shoulders for an F5 - that was reversed into a DDT on the chairs. But it still wasn't enough to put away the former UFC champ.
So he went and got Mick Foley's barbed wire bat. And got suplexed, and F5-ed onto some chairs. And pinned.
Lesnar and Heyman know how much of a fight Dean brought, and Ambrose delivered a fun performance that will only enhance his reputation. But that reputation isn't to the point that he can slay the Beast yet.
