In the semifinal round, Daniels defeated John Walters to win the ECWA Heavyweight Championship. Other participants in the tournament were Shawn Davari, Ricky Reyes, Rocky Romero, John Walters, and Nicho el Milionario (aka Psicosis from his ECW and WCW days).

With a $6.6 million gate, it's at the time the second highest grossing event in company history. It's the final event promoted under the name World Wrestling Entertainment, as the company would shorten it to WWE officially less than a week later.
- In a preshow dark match, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan fought to a no contest in a lumberjack match for the WWE United States Championship when all the lumberjacks rushed the ring.
- In a preshow dark match, The Great Khali won a 23-man battle royal. 4 years ago today, WWE announces that Randy Orton would not be in the third installment of The Marine film series.
The movie, The Marine: Homefront, was set to film in a couple of months in Vancouver, but after complaints from fellow Marines (some from his former unit) about Orton's military history (he was dishonorably discharged after going AWOL) Orton was dropped from the movie. The Miz replaced Orton in the movie. From a WWE representative talking to TMZ.com about the decision:
"WWE demonstrated poor judgment in signing Randy Orton for the 3rd installment of the film. Despite Randy's popularity, the fact that he was dishonorably discharged from the USMC made it inappropriate for him to be cast in this film."

1 year ago today, WWE announces that April Mendez, best known as AJ Lee, has retired from in-ring competition. The very brief statement from WWE.com:
AJ Lee (April Mendez) has decided to retire from in-ring competition with WWE. We wish AJ the very best.
Mendez joined WWE in 2009 and was in their developmental program for two years; the latter part of her time, she was a member of the all ladies-NXT Volume 3 cast (she finished third). She joined the main roster in 2011 and became the first three-time WWE Divas Champion in company history; her third reign at 295 days was at the time of her retirement the longest in the title's history.
In June 2014, Mendez married fellow ex-wrestler Phil Brooks, aka CM Punk. She also gave a brief statement about her retirement on her Twitter two days later:

It's a happy 47th birthday for Lance Evers, aka Wrestling's Most Serious Man, Lance Storm.
Storm is a seven-time tag team champion (three in ECW, four in WWE), and once held three of the four singles championships at the same time (Cruiserweight, Hardcore, and United States). Storm was voted Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Most Underrated Wrestler of 2001. Storm left WWE in 2005 to open his own wrestling school in Calgary. Alberta, Canada, but he has been in and out of retirement since, last wrestling in 2013. He is an occasional guest on the Bryan and Vinny Show and writes a monthly column for Fighting Spirit magazine.
