How do we move on from the cries of "WAR" which ended out last episode?
Well, to completely jumble some Shakespeare, we can let slip Team Havoc.
The Trios Tournament will come to an end this evening, and while most of us were working under the same assumption Son of Havoc was - that the winners would be the #1 contenders for the belts worn by him, Ivelisse and Angelico - Dario Cueto has other plans in mind.
And as long as the plans don't involve Catrina, things tend to go according to El Jefe's plans.
So the three trios who won their first round matches (Mr. Cisco and undercover officers Joey Ryan & Cortez Castro, the dream team of Rey Mysterio, El Dragon Azteca, Jr. & Prince Puma, and Fenix, Jack Evans & PJ Black) will compete in a fourway elimination match with Team Dysfunction for the titles.
Provided of course, Cueto doesn't have any more tricks up his sleeve, as he did last year when he introduced Castro, Cisco & the since-murdered Bael to face the tournament winners moments after they'd won the finals.
Dario has his hands full the the aformentioned war, however... and probably with cleaning up his office after his brother, LU champ Matanza, was Flatlinered through the roof by (and along with) his opponent last week, Mil Muertes.
We've also got six more Aztec medallions to be awarded before we can have a new Gift of the Gods champion. Johnny Mundo wasn't given the chance to compete for one last year, a fact that he thought would earn him a medallion this year. It won't be that easy, however. Mundo will have to battle the Machine, Cage, with the Aztec gold on the line. And he has to do it inside a steel cage, so his ally Taya won't be able to interfere.
Check out the intro for that bad boy in our clip above.
When they sent us that, El Rey also teased us with an appearance by Pentagon, Jr. We haven't seen the taker of arms since Matanza damn near took his life during his shot at the monster after Aztec Warfare. Could his return mean he and his dark master, Vampiro, are about to enter this war?
See you tonight.
