Here we are again. A week after the death of ECW's Balls Mahoney, another Attitude Era legend is gone.
Perhaps because of the hour, and/or her troubled relationship with WWE, the company which contracts so much talent and holds so much sway over the sports entertainment business, pro wrestling reaction to Joanie "Chyna" Lauer's passing has been light in the minutes following confirmation of her death at the age of 45.
But in a testament to how well known she was as a character and performer outside the squared circle, there's been more response from other areas of pop culture than we've seen with recent wrestling superstars.
Condolences to the family & friends of @ChynaJoanLaurer. Hopefully her troubled soul has found peace.

Someone who didn't get enough credit for what she did for women in wrestling. Sadly she will get that recognition now. RIP Chyna.

When I was still a young lion in New Japan in the early 2000's Joanie "Chyna" main evented the Tokyo Dome against Chono. Think about that

We'll update as they continue to roll in, honoring a performer who broke ground in wrestling and society, and whose personal trials and tribulations played out on a very public stage.
