Rumor Roundup (April 20, 2016): Conor McGregor WWE talk, Shane McMahon plans, Cesaro push, more!

New, comments

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Although there is plenty of speculation on the future of Conor McGregor if he does retire from MMA, apparently there's nothing to the talk of his going to WWE, mostly because the belief is everything going on right now is a negotiating tactic with UFC.
  • Shane McMahon is expected to continue his role in WWE for a while, meaning we can expect more of his running Raw in the weeks to come, even if The Authority returns soon for a program as expected.
  • Cesaro's recent success on WWE television is apparently due to a renewed push that could lead to bigger and better things. Whatever that means.
  • Although it's unclear who, there may be another NXT call up by SummerSlam. That could be in reference to recent rumors surrounding Finn Balor and Samoa Joe.
  • Speaking of NXT call ups, there may already be some souring on The Vaudevillains.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
