SEScoops reports that just days after unveiling the new Women's Championship and renaming what was once the Divas division, WWE filed for a trademark on the name Total Bellas.
According to the US Patent & Trademark Office website, the primary purpose of the trademark is for, "Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing reality-based program and its participants; entertainment services, namely, an ongoing show about professional wrestlers and professional wrestling."
The natural speculation to make is that Total Bellas will become the new name of Total Divas going forward, although it is possible that this could be the title of a new spinoff series that focuses entirely on the Bellas. (That wouldn't be out of the question, as Brie Bella has retired from wrestling following WrestleMania 32 and Nikki Bella's injury may end up ruling out a full-time return to the ring.)
The Season 5 finale of Total Divas is a two-parter, with the first part airing Tuesday night and the final episode airing next week. There were already big changes to the show in store for Season 6, with Renee Young, Lana, Maryse and Naomi joining the cast, while Alicia Fox, Mandy Rose and Rosa Mendes are reportedly off the show as regulars. The show is also supposed to feature Brie's retirement in-depth. A name change wouldn't be out of the question amid all these moves.
