Kevin Owens will defend his Intercontinental title against six maniacs in a ladder match at WrestleMania 32

The Intercontinental champ tried to ensure a less-than-top-notch opponent for himself at WrestleMania 32, or should I say KOMania, a week from this upcoming Sunday.

After Miz, Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn lobbied for title shots earlier in the show, Kevin Owens got Stephanie McMahon to approve a KO booked Triple Threat for the #1 contendership. Us rubes at home figured the threeway would be between the three guys we'd already seen on Raw, but the champ was one step ahead of us all, and called out Sin Cara, Stardust and Zack Ryder.

Those men were having a match, when Sami, Miz and Dolph decided to confront Owens, who was assisting with commentary, about his strategy. As has been established for months now, everyone hates Kev, so this unsurprisingly broke down into a six-on-one beatdown. The champ escaped and made his way backstage to find Steph.

Interrupting her while she talked to her husband probably wasn't his best move however. An annoyed Billion Dollar Princess corrected Owens on the name of the Apr. 3 event, and gave him a true Mania-worthy moment when she told him he'd defend his title against Ryder, Sin Cara, Stardust, Ziggler, Zayn and Miz in a ladder match.

This is the second straight year we'll have a multi-man ladder match for the Intercontinental championship. It also denies a lot of fans the Zayn/Owens showdown they've been craving.

On the bright side, there are a lot of really fun performers in a ladder match on one of the biggest shows in history, and there are plenty of years to rekindle Sami vs. KO with a more substantial build.
