Tonight's episode of SmackDown was filmed on Tuesday night in Cincinnati. We've got a spoiler report for you here. If you just want to get ready for the show without knowing who wins and loses, read on!
The Headliner
Word (and even some video) spread about their awesome 30 minute Iron Man match on the Saturday night show that wasn't on WWE Network, so they're throwing us this bone.
Intercontinental champ Kevin Owens spent Monday on commentary, delivering his usual strong stuff with the microphone while his forever rival Sami Zayn duked it out with Miz. But the Awesome One didn't like the fact that KO high-tailed on Thursday night, so he clobbered the champ when he went to attack Zayn.
AJ Styles is no stranger to interference. He ran in himself to save the injured Neville from any further damage (or whining) from his former tag partner, Chris Jericho.
WWE.com doesn't say if the title is on the line, so it probably isn't. And we run down everyone else the Prizefighter and the Phenomenal One are dealing with right now because... it's SmackDown. At least one of them is getting involved, and there's a 50% chance this turns into a tag match.
The Title Scene
WWE World Heavyweight champion Triple H is probably in his office in Stamford trying not to pick at the stitches Roman Reigns gave him on Raw. We know the Big Dog will be there, cause we've heard fans arguing about whether or not he got booed... what will he have to say to fans who haven't heard him in weeks? And will the Authority have any payback waiting for him after Monday?
Another segment announced in advance features Divas titleholder Charlotte and her two WrestleMania rivals, Becky Lynch & Sasha Banks. This program has been on simmer for a few shows now, but if all three ladies get in the ring at the same time, we can expect some forward momentum - or at least an escalation of tensions.
Yesterday, the United States championship joined the butterfly and main belts with bookings for Apr. 3. Kalisto is taking the Big Guy's advice, going it alone and testing himself. His challenger for North Texas will be hungry for a new championship win. That's all I got for you on this one.
We don't have a whole lot of details about their match at Mania, but the New Day will be looking for revenge after League of Nations delivered a long beatdown following their latest failed attempt to take Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & Big E's tag belts on Raw.
Other stuff to keep an eye on:
- Despite being the recipients of more damage than we can count over the last month or so, Dean Ambrose is still prepping for a street fight with Brock Lesnar. And now he has a barbed wire baseball bat, courtesy of Mrs. Foley's baby boy.
- The Authority is mad at Dolph Ziggler again. At least, they were before they served him up to Hunter prior to Roman's big return. They're probably cool now, or maybe just forgot about him again? Maybe they're just super-pleased with how the Countdown trailer turned out...
- Hopefully, R-Truth and Goldust have consummated their relationship by now.
- Having recruited Team B.A.D. to her cause, Lana is looking to end her feud with Brie Bella, Paige and anyone else from among the 97% of the roster who allegedly hates her guts.
- I guess we have one reason for how Bray Wyatt's been booked over the past month.
(Note: I know some folks have come looking for a more definitive match listing - that will be posted behind spoiler text in the comments. If WWE.com releases more information on anything that's officially going to take place on tonight's show, that'll be updated here)
