Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.
Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.
We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the best show WWE produces on a weekly basis - during its initial broadcast!
NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcast (like here), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.
Enjoy the show!
- We start out with a lengthy recap of last week's amazing 2-out-of-3 falls match! After that, it's MORE SAMI as our favorite skankin' dude joins us in the ring.
He puts over both his and Joe's efforts in last week's match and says it's still his goal to be the first-ever two-time NXT champion. He then laments that he won't be at TakeOver: Dallas.
SUDDENLY: William Regal's music! He says Sami WILL be at Dallas ... to face THIS MAN: He departs and the big screen goes to static. Then: a low-quality Shinsuke Nakamura cell phone video! Nakamura is barely audible over Full Sail's HOLY SHIT chant. But nevertheless: Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura is now EXTRA DOUBLE SUPER official for TakeOver!
- Now the Hype Bros are here! They're facing Angelo Dawkins and Kenneth Crawford. Sure enough, Mojo Rawley gets proven correct: they ain't hype. A Hype Ryder finishes things for the Bros.
- And now we get a nice video package of the NXT talent that attended the recent Arnold Classic.
- Deonna Purrazzo is backstage and gets snided at by Emma and Dana Brooke. Purrazzo says she's going to be the one to stop the EmmaLution. They think she's kidding and they say they're SO serious about this that they're not even going to give her a head-pat. SIKE. HEAD-PAT.
- And now we're getting Purrazzo vs. Emma in one-on-one action. After a lengthy and mostly one-sided affair, Emma gets Purrazzo to tap out with the Emma Lock.
- The Vaudevillains are backstage getting ready for their No. 1 contender's match later tonight.
- The next match is Tommaso Ciampa vs. Jessy Sorensen. Ciampa's arm submission results in a victory in short order.
- Nia Jax and Eva Marie get separate entrances for tag team action! It's ALL RED EVERYQUEEN taking on the megapowered team of Bayley and Asuka. Wooooo. Jax accidentally drops the Yokozuna leg on Eva Marie and a Bayley to Belly makes things academic for the good guys.
After the match, William Regal comes out to congratulate the winning team. He says Bayley, as always, sets the standard for the division. And Asuka has elevated what was already the standout division in the entire industry. So he is PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE that the No. 1 contender for Bayley's title at TakeOver will be: Asuka.
- Austin Aries joins Tom and Corey live via satellite, I suppose. He runs down Baron Corbin and says he's earned all of his accomplishments in wrestling and he's going to teach Corbin why he's the greatest man that ever lived at TakeOver: Dallas.
- Main event time! American Alpha vs. Vaudevillains to determine the #1 contenders for the NXT tag team championship. Gable and Jordan win with the handoff back suplex.
