The 3rd annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is coming to WrestleMania 32

WWE.com

WrestleMania's newest fixture has been confirmed for the 2016 show. WWE.com added the third annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal to the match card for this year's event, taking place April 3 in Arlington, Texas.

There's been no mention of it on Raw, which was broadcasting while the news went up, and there's little in the way of details on the website, either:

Though no Superstars have yet been confirmed for the 2016 edition, participants will no doubt reveal themselves as WrestleMania nears.

What we do know is that the over-the-top rope elimination is a traditional battle royal, with all participants starting in the ring. The winner will receive the Andre the Giant trophy, which is awarded in honor of the 7' 4" 500 pound Frenchman known as the "King of the Battle Royal" over his two decades in the wrestling business.

The 2014 version, won by Cesaro, featured 31 wrestlers, and last year's, won by Big Show, had 30, so it's probably safe to assume a similar number of participants - but it's hard to guess how the winner will be chosen or what it might mean about his future.

At Mania 31 in Santa Clara, California, the battle royal was one of two pre-show bouts; no word yet on if this year's edition will occupy the same spot.

With the Andre, this year's Showcase of the Immortals has five announced matches:

- Triple H vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE championship
- Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose in a Street Fight
- Shane McMahon vs. the Undertaker in Hell in a Cell for control of Raw
- Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte in a Triple Threat for the Divas championship
- The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
