Shinsuke Nakamura regains NXT championship with win over Samoa Joe in Osaka, Japan

We’ll have more details later, but in the main event of Saturday (Dec. 3)’s NXT live event in Osaka, Japan, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Samoa Joe to regain the brand’s top title. With, of course... KINSHASA!

Nakamura joins Joe as the only two-time singles champs in NXT history. The former Ring of Honor (ROH) and TNA star just defeated Shinsuke to win back the belt himself on Nov. 19 at TakeOver: Toronto.

Guesses as to who is heading to the main roster are completely up in the air... as is the main event of January 2017’s TakeOver: San Antonio show on Royal Rumble weekend (a #1 contender for the championship was determined at last Wednesday’s Full Sail tapings - click here if you want to know).

That picture should start to clear up when this match is covered on the Wednesday, Dec. 8 episode of NXT on WWE Network. While we wait for that, we do know that he celebrated the victory with some old friends...
