Rumor Roundup special (possible spoilers) edition: 205 Live

WWE on Twitter

The WWE Cruiserweight division gets a big push tonight with the debut of a WWE Network show dedicated to guys who meet its 205 pound weight limit - many of whom were stars of the critically-acclaimed Cruiserweight Classic (CWC) tournament earlier this year. 205 Live will broadcast on the streaming service at 10PM Eastern, immediately following SmackDown Live.

We know for sure that there will be a title match between current champ Brian Kendrick and Rich Swann on the premiere episode, and that the action will be called by Mauro Ranallo & Corey Graves. Beyond that, there aren’t a ton of details about what to expect. But this is pro wrestling, and the internet, so there are reports and rumors.

Some of these are possible spoilers - you’ve been warned.

Feel free to discuss, or share anything you've heard or read in the comments (usual rumor caveats* apply), and let's have fun.

  • Former TNA and Ring of Honor, and current NXT, star Austin Aires might be a player on 205 Live. He’s still not medically cleared from the broken orbital bone he suffered working with Shinsuke Nakamura, so if he shows up tonight, it’ll be in a non-physical role.

  • The premiere episode is an “all hands on deck” affair, according to PWInsider, as TJ Perkins, Cedric Alexander, Akira Tozawa, The Bollywood Boyz, Jack Gallagher, HoHo Lun, Lince Dorado, Gran Metalik and pretty much everyone in the division will be at the taping in Columbia, South Carolina.

  • Well, except for Sin Cara - which may be because he’s still in trouble for his run-in with Chris Jericho in the United Kingdom.

  • While the show is listed as being 45 minutes long on the WWE Network schedule, it’s possible the episode will be longer than that.

  • CWC alum and Freelance Wrestling standout Mustafa Ali has reportedly officially signed with WWE for 205 Live.

* Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
