In a shocking twist, Smarks actually like good wrestling matches

New, comments

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - WWE's Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV), the Nov. 21 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown Live, Wednesday's Lucha Underground, WWE NXT, and ROH TV, Thursday's TNA Impact, and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from Nov. 20 - 26, 2016.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

This is probably not how last week's winner celebrated his NXT tag championship or S3 victory...

But it does remind me I miss indie heel Gargano.

  • Have match of the year, take first four spots in fan poll. It's pretty self-explanatory.
  • Win top prize in your fed, in some sort of history-making fashion, finish fifth and sixth. Again, it's not rocket science, people.
  • The Boss got props for a submission victory on her show and GOING IN on Nikki Bella while her brand invaded on the Survivor Series go home.
  • Three veterans having great years for different reasons round out the weekly ten.

The S3: 2016-17, Week 33

1. Johnny Gargano
2. Tommaso Ciampa
3. Scott Dawson
4. Dash Wilder
5. Samoa Joe
6. Sexy Star
7. Sasha Banks
8. Chris Hero
9. Chris Jericho
10. Miz

Points in our weekly Standings determine our annual list - full details on rules and scoring HERE.

A rare week without the Phenomenal One picking up Standings points... but it doesn't matter, because no one else in the top ten (except Sasha) did either.

The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week Ending Nov. 19

1. AJ Styles - 201
2. Dean Ambrose - 130
3. Kevin Owens - 101
4. The Miz - 71
5. Seth Rollins - 68
6. Sasha Banks - 65.5
7. Cesaro - 63.5
8. Becky Lynch - 59
9. Roman Reigns - 56
10. Matt Hardy - 54.5

Sure, things have been slow the last few days due to the holiday here in the States, but there was plenty to consider before that. So hopefully you're rested up and ready to pick your favorite performances from Survivor SeriesRaw, Smackdown, Lucha Underground, NXTImpact and whatever Sermon on the Mat's turned you on to lately... because you're the Smarks who determine these Standings.

See you next Sunday.
