A new report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, who broke the news immediately after Survivor Series that Goldberg would enter the 2017 Royal Rumble match (confirmed on Raw last night, Nov. 21), says that Brock Lesnar will be joining his arch-nemesis in the 30 man battle royal in San Antonio.
Lesnar was not officially advertised for the Jan. 29 show, so while it was expected he’d be on a “Big 4” pay-per-view (PPV) like the Rumble, that he’ll definitely be there is news. Just knowing Brock will be in the Alamodome will fuel speculation that an interaction between he and the WCW legend could be the set-up for a third one-on-one match between the two at WrestleMania 33. Actually putting the Beast Incarnate in the event’s titular match opens up numerous possibilities, and is definitely a big deal.
Of course, Ryan Satin’s report includes a caveat that the Rumble is more than two months away and “plans could always change”, but he was right on Goldberg being in the match and, if nothing else, this gives us another excuse to fantasy book, so... let’s get to it!
