WWE NXT live results (Nov. 2, 2016): Second round of the Dusty Classic

New, 28 comments

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.

Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.

We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the best show WWE produces on a weekly basis - during its initial broadcast!

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts (including here, and here), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!

- Charly Caruso hosts from the Performance (Corey Graves at the Center Cruiserweight Classic-style) and informs us we're covering all the second round Dusty Rhodes Classic matches tonight, starting with...

- TM-61 vs. Roderick Strong & Austin Aries in a second round match of the Dusty Rhodes Classic Tag Team Tournament from San Jose... but before it can start, a sunglasses-wearing Aries points out that he's in street clothes due to a "broken eye-hole". He says he wanted to fight, but NXT officials wouldn't risk their investment, so he suggests the Australians forfeit. General Manager William Regal confirms trainers won't let A-Double compete this week, but says he'll be able to fight next week. Regal points out that Dusty Rhodes was all about competition, so he wants one of TM-61 to face Roderick to see who advances to the semis.

- Samoa Joe & Shinsuke Nakamura sign the contract for their TakeOver: Toronto NXT title match next week

- #DIY vs. The Revival in a second round match of the Dusty Rhodes Classic Tag Team Tournament... but Scott Dawson is on crutches when the tag champs come out. He's suffered a career-threatening knee injury which would sideline normal jamokes like Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa, but he wanted to push through it and win the tournament. His doctor told him to stay home and take some ibuprofen, though, so they're going to bow out of the tournament - giving #DIY a spot in the semis.

- Cedric Alexander interview with Dasha Fuentes where he says Andrade "Cien" Almas taught him a valuable lesson about not just being happy to be here. He offers to thank him for it in the ring anytime.

- Gargano & Ciampa say they aren't surprised by anything the Revival do at this point. They're focused on winning the Dusty, and the coming for the belts.

- Authors of Pain def. No Way Jose & Rich Swann via pinfall (Last Chapter on Jose) to advance to the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament

- Cool promo introducing new fans to Mickie James; #DIY vs. The AoP is next week

- SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe & Sawyer Fulton) def. TJ Perkins & Kota Ibushi via pinfall (after distractions by Eric Young & Nikki Cross saved Wolfe following a Golden Star Powerbomb) to advance to the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Tournament
