NXT, TNA prepare for Hurricane Matthew to hit Florida (Updated)

Hurricane Matthew has already done major damage in the Caribbean, and is expected to make landfall in Florida within the next two days. Gov. Rick Scott said earlier today (Oct. 5), "I cannot emphasize enough that everyone in our state must prepare now for a direct hit."

WWE took the message to heart, and moved both of the planned NXT house shows which were scheduled in the state to later dates on the calendar:

TNA is set to tape episodes of Impact in Orlando until Saturday. The plan has been to film enough material to get through the end of the year. Perhaps because of that, Dixie Carter & TNA plan to hold Impact Wrestling tapings at the Universal Studios’ backlot - unless the theme park elects to close:

Here’s hoping everyone is the Sunshine State stays safe this weekend, regardless of whether they have any plans that involve pro wrestling.

Update: has announced they have canceled their Friday show and added a double taping on Saturday:

On Thursday, October 6th 2016 we will feature a matinee show with a start time of 1PM EST. The doors will open at 12PM EST.

Friday, October 7th 2016 we will not be taping.

Saturday, October 8th 2016 we will feature a matinee show AND an evening show. The matinee start time is 1PM EST. The doors will open at 12PM EST.

The evening show will start at 7PM EST. The doors will open at 6PM EST.
