With only six matches on a show which will be responsible for producing more than four hours of content on WWE Network this Sunday, Oct. 9, SmackDown Live General Manager is using his General Managing skills, and his Twitter account, to add a bout to the card for No Mercy in Sacramento:
After recent events on #SDLive, I'm making it official: @BaronCorbinWWE will take on @RealJackSwagger THIS Sunday at #WWENoMercy. @WWE
— Daniel Bryan (@WWEDanielBryan) October 5, 2016
Baron Corbin has been dominant since the Draft, and even going back to his main roster debut at WrestleMania 32, where he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Jack Swagger is in the midst of his umpteenth re-push.
They don’t like each other.
Bryan doesn’t specify, but this match seems tailor-made for the hour long pre-show. While we don’t know if it will air there or on the WWE Network exclusive part of the broadcast, we do know it will join the following matches in No Mercy’s line-up:
- John Cena vs. AJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose for the WWE World title
- Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt
- Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss (c) for the SmackDown Women’s championship
- Heath Slater & Rhyno (c) vs. The Usos for the SmackDown tag titles
- Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz (c) in an Intercontinental championship vs. career match
- Nikki Bella vs. Carmella
