WWE NXT live results (Oct. 5, 2016): The Dusty Rhodes Classic begins!

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.

- Authors of Pain def. Bollywood Boys via pinfall following the Last Chapter (leg sweep/lariat combo) to advance to the 2nd round in the Dusty Rhodes Classic

- Rich Swann def. Patrick Clark via pinfall

- Recap of Cedric Alexander vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas match from a couple weeks back

- Recap of Liv Morgan's death by Asuka, and Peyton Royce and Billie Kay mocking her in the trainer's room

- Peyton Royce def. Danielle Kamela via pinfall following a bridging suplex

- Charly Caruso asks Glorious 10 how their partnership is going. Bobby Roode talks over Tye Dillinger, tries to get him to visualize their win, etc. Caruso asks about SaniTY, but Roode blows that off too, saying Perfectly Glorious will win the Dusty.

- Dan Matha debuts, but as Corey Graves & Tom Phillips talk him up Samoa Joe enters the arena. He head butts and strikes Matha down into the corner, then gets on the mic to again issue his ultimatum to William Regal - give me Shinsuke Nakamura or give me my belt, or more of the future of NXT will suffer.

- Dascha Feuntes interviews No Way Jose & Rich Swann about their partnership.

- SaniTY will be here next week

- The Revival def. Andrade "Cien" Almas & Cedric Alexander via pinfall following Shatter Machine (Dawson pinned Cedric) to advance to the 2nd round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

- Afterwards, ACA starts to console Cedric, but then wags his finger behind his back. He stomps him down, throws him to he floor and drops him face first on the steel steps. He soaks in the "YOU SUCK" chants.
