Lashley ‘absolutely’ wants to wrestle Brock Lesnar in WWE

YouTube

They wrestle and fight for different companies, but TNA & Bellator’s Bobby Lashley knows there’s money to made in a face-off between himself and the other guy who’s been in successful in pro graps and mixed martial arts, Brock Lesnar.

That’s what Impact Wrestling’s World champ told Jim Ross on a recent episode of his The Ross Report podcast.

Stepping into a cage for a shoot fight seems like a long-shot, due as much to Brock’s uncertain status with anti-doping officials and the Nevada State Athletic Commission as to their being aligned with different promotions:

I don’t know if the fighting is still an opportunity with me being in Bellator and him kind of being with the UFC or I don’t know what his situation is right now, so I don’t know if the fight thing is possible.

Perhaps because of TNA’s uncertain status, however, Lashley is more optimistic about a pro wrestling match:

You know, I hear that all the time. And, J.R., you know this as well as I do, it’s not in my hands. If you ask me, I would say, “absolutely”, but it’s the powers-that-be. I think there are enough fans who would love to see it. They’ve been saying it from day one. The funny thing about it is I’ve never met Brock in person, never crossed paths with Brock at all anywhere, so we don’t even know each other at all whatsoever. And I’ve always been compared to Brock and they’ve always said, ‘hey, are you and Brock going to fight? Are you and Brock going to wrestle?

The former collegiate and U.S. Army wrestler even has a scenario booked in his mind to to set it up:

But, I mean, to see me as Brock is destroying everyone, run up and saved the day on someone, or vice versa, or whatever the case is, but to have us stand face to face, I think the crowd would go insane and there’s a tremendous amount of money in there, so if it were to happen, I’m open for it.

Would you pay to see that match? Because if enough of us would, I think a certain Connecticut billionaire would probably make it happen...
