Fan-maggedom averted (probably).
PWInsider reports that, as of this morning, the plan is for Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair will close the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) in Boston tonight (Oct. 30).
Fans got excited about the possibility when the ladies first made history with the announcement Banks’ Women’s title defense would take place inside Hell in a Cell. Then they were featured on the poster for the event. When Raw General Manager Mick Foley posted to Facebook congratulating them on earning a “main event” slot, people started to freak out.
Then Mick backtracked, WWE started marketing the show as having a “triple main event” where all three Hell in a Cell bouts (Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens for the Universal title, Rusev vs. Roman Reigns for the U.S. title and the women’s championship) and rumors came out that Vince McMahon was personally against the Boss and the Queen going on last and people got pissed.
Now, Vince is notorious for changing his mind at the last minute, and no one’s sources in this business are 100% right. But Mike Johnson felt comfortable enough with his info to go public, so...
Get cautiously optimistic everybody!
