Don't blow a gasket, Vince... Smarks don't think Goldberg sucks

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - the Oct. 24 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown Live, Wednesday's Lucha Underground, WWE NXT, and ROH TV, Thursday's TNA Impact and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from Oct. 23 - 29, 2016.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

  • A reminder voting happened way back before Minneapolis made Vince McMahon blow a gasket.
  • The blue brand's main event scene - consisting of two of the 64 greatest wrestlers of all-time and a guy from Cincinnati - came in right behind the new Mega-Dad of the Year.
  • Raw's main event scene (and not the one almost everybody thinks should go on last at Hell in a Cell) all made the weekly ten, as well. No word on if you Smarks made "The List" because the G.O.A.T. only finished fifth.
  • Nice sampling of other promotions across the botton half of the top ten, as Ricochet was recognized for finally getting a win over Rellik, and the show-stealers from a great EVOLVE 71 deadlocked at seventh.
  • Wouldn't really call her the White Chocolate Cheesecake of Sports Entertainment any more, but you voted for her because she's still the best, and possibly most inSAne, in the Galaxy.

The S3: 2016-17, Week 29

1. Goldberg
2. James Ellsworth
3. AJ Styles
4. Dean Ambrose
5. Chris Jericho
6. Prince Puma
7. (tie) Fred Yehi
7. (tie) Zack Sabre, Jr.
9. Seth Rollins
10. (tie) Kevin Owens
10. (tie) Nikki Cross

Points in our weekly Standings determine our annual list - full details on rules and scoring HERE.

The WWE World champ hasn't won a week in a while, but he gets big points regardless and looks pretty unstoppable - even with lots of ground to cover before the WrestleMania finish line.

The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week Ending Oct. 22

1. AJ Styles - 179
2. Dean Ambrose - 114
3. Kevin Owens - 97
4. The Miz - 68
5. Seth Rollins - 67
6. Cesaro - 63.5
7. Roman Reigns - 56
8. Matt Hardy - 52.5
9. Heath Slater - 47
10. Sasha Banks - 44.5

Catch up before the cage is lowered in Boston... we're always here to help with info on Raw, Smackdown, Lucha Underground, NXT and Impact (plus Rev's increasingly thorough coverage of dope indies), but you can vote for anything that ended up on screens over the past seven days.

We'll do the math and see you next week!
