Lucha Underground’s PJ Black breaks both ankles in BASE jumping accident

Former Lucha Underground Trios champ PJ Black, who many know from his WWE run as Justin Gabriel, had to back out of a date in his native South Africa this weekend. Black, who incorporates his love of extreme sports into his wrestling character, the Darewolf, had an accident while BASE jumping which broke both of his ankles.

World Wrestling Professionals (WWP), the Port Elizabeth based promotion he was booked to appear for on Saturday, Oct. 1, broke the news on their Facebook page:

Looks like Black did appear as promised for a session with fans in Montclaire. No update on recovery time, but you have to believe - best case - he’s out for several months. From a posting on his own Facebook page, he appears to be in good spirits:
