Losing, James Ellsworth can't keep Miz from the top of Smark's 'A-List'

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - EVOLVE 71, the Oct. 17 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown Live, Wednesday's Lucha Underground, WWE NXT, and ROH TV, Thursday's TNA Impact and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from Oct. 16 - 22, 2016.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

They may still be in mourning...

...but they're still on your A-List.

  • With a pay-per-view (PPV) on the ballot, it's no surprise SmackDown continued to dominate with the first five spots on the Standings all taken by guys in the Intercontinental or World title programs.
  • And when the red brand shows up, it's not the Universal champ or his main challenger. It is an entertaining veteran who's served as a key piece of their feud, so Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins can feel good about Y2J getting some love, I guess.
  • Raw's Women's and United States champs made the list (and not the "of Jericho" one)
  • Outside of WWE's "big two" brands, losing a great match to Chris Hero, or a great brawl to Shinsuke Nakamura, will still get you a few points around here.

The S3: 2016-17, Week 28

1. The Miz
2. AJ Styles
3. Dolph Ziggler
4. James Ellsworth
5. Dean Ambrose
6. Chris Jericho
7. Sasha Banks
8. Matt Riddle
9. Samoa Joe
10. Roman Reigns

Points in our weekly Standings determine our annual list - full details on rules and scoring HERE.

The blue brand's dominance of the weekly Standings is starting to show in the year-to-date top ten, although Raw's Women's champ did just nudge her Tuesday night counterpart off this list.

The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week Ending Oct. 15

1. AJ Styles - 171
2. Dean Ambrose - 107
3. Kevin Owens - 96.5
4. The Miz - 68
5. Seth Rollins - 65
6. Cesaro - 63.5
7. Roman Reigns - 56
8. Matt Hardy - 52.5
9. Heath Slater - 47
10. Sasha Banks - 44.5
