Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.
Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.
We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the best show WWE produces on a weekly basis - during its initial broadcast!
NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts (including here), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.
Enjoy the show!
- Pre-open video replay of last week’s main event brawl between Samoa Joe & Shinsuke Nakamura; Tom Phillips tells us the champ is in the building tonight
- No Way Jose & Rich Swann def. Tony Nese & Drew Gulak via pinfall (Jose on Gulak following a Half-Nelson Slam) to advance to the second round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
- Afterwards, Swann and Jose cut a promo saying there was "no way" they were going out in the first round, and asking their second round opponents Authors of Pain if they could "handle it"
- Phillips announces that Hideo Itami is injured and can't team with Kota Ibushi in the Dusty; Tye Dillinger demands a match with Bobby Roode from the trainer's room, and we're told William Regal has approved that for TakeOver: Toronto
- Austin Aries refuses to tell Dascha Fuentes who his partner is tonight, but he does say it's the only athlete who deserves to tag with him - and mocks Itami for having to pull out of the tournament
- Bobby Roode def. Sean Maluta via pinfall following the Glorious Drop (lifting DDT)
- Post-match, Roode gets on the mic to say he doesn't know why Dillinger is upset. He tried to lift him up out of his mediocre life. Eventually, Tye charges the ring and they brawl. The Perfect Ten gets the upperhand and Bobby bails.
- Charly Caruso asks Liv Morgan about Peyton Royce interferring to cost her her match with Billie Kay last week. Just as she starts to respond, the Aussies jump her and beat her all the way to the stage. Once there, they say they're putting the division - including Asuka - on notice.
- Austin Aries & Roderick Strong def. Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight via pinfall (Strong on Knight after a Gutbuster/running dropkick combo) to advance to the second round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
- Recap of the Revival's Dusty win and Andrade "Cien" Almas' turn leads to a statement from Almas, translated by Andrea D'Marco. He's upset because he gave up his mask to come to NXT, but that respect hasn't been reciprocated. From now on, he doesn't care about respect, only himself.
-
Nikki Cross def. Danielle Kamela via pinfall following a swinging fisherman's neckbreaker; no one can stop Cross from continuing the beatdown after the bell, so the referee reverses the decision... Danielle Kamela def. Nikki Cross via disqualification
- Shinsuke Nakamura tells Samoa Joe that he can try all his dirty tricks, but if he wants his belt, he can come and get it in Toronto. Nak plans to beat Joe with no mercy. Patrick Clark comes out and makes some Prince references on his way to challenging Shinsuke to a fight. The champ makes quick work of him, and then sees Joe coming down the ramp. He lays out Clark with Kinshasa and tells Joe to bring it, but the former champ backs off.
