Paige’s father says he’s ‘totally against my daughter marrying that man’

UPDATE: Ricky Knight has deleted his Facebook post, or set the status to “private”.

Hoo, boy.

In case you missed it, Paige proposed to Alberto “El Presidente” Rodriguez (fka Del Rio) last night during a WCW show in Puerto Rico.

Her father, English wrestling promoter Ricky Knight, doesn’t like it.

The status read: “Putting this out there then saying no more,about it to anyone I am totally against my daughter marrying that man statement over”

This is the same Facebook account Knight used to express his concerns about how WWE was handling his daughter’s injuries last week. That message came at the same time as Paige’s mother, Saraya, posted messages which didn’t specifically explain her issues with the situation, but did publicly wish her child would “just come home”.

Paige’s brother, Roy, who also chimed in via Facebook on her health and WWE Wellness suspensions last week, replied to his father’s post:

Because everyone involved is in the wrestling business, the idea this is all ‘a work’ is out there, and probably isn’t going away any time soon.

Given Paige’s murky situation with the company she’s contracted to for the foreseeable future, Rodriguez’s marital status being in dispute and that they’re causing her family to at least worry about her well-being... this would be a horrible angle.
