Rumor Roundup (Oct. 13, 2016): Cena's hiatus and plans for his return, Survivor Series, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • John Cena's latest hiatus from WWE is expected to start after Sat., Oct. 15's house show in Phoenix. After that, he's only scheduled for Survivor Series and then a Madison Square Garden house show in late December.

  • Plans aren't set for Cena at Survivor Series, but he'll likely be on one of the SmackDown vs. Raw matches while AJ Styles continues to work with Dean Ambrose.

  • Cena's quest for a 16th World title will resume when he comes back, and despite his not being advertised for it, could include challenging AJ (who will leave his feud with Ambrose with the belt) at TLC.

  • Curt Hawkins being bumped from SmackDown this week was a result of early segments like Miz & Dolph Ziggler going long and not an indication Creative isn't high on his gimmick.

  • ACH cut a promo at an AAW show recently described as "anti-Ring of Honor" which got him in trouble with company officials and the locker room. He's still under contract with ROH, and management plans to talk to him at the upcoming Glory by Honor shows.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
