Alberto El Presidente talks to Taz about stabbing incident, Paige and more

As mentioned yesterday the former Alberto El Patron (and Del Rio) - now Alberto El Presidente Rodriguez was a guest on The Taz Show this morning (Oct. 11). And as expected, Taz brought up both the stabbing incident which lead to his missing AAA Heroes Inmortales X, Paige’s second WWE Wellness suspension and his romance with the Total Divas star.

As you can see in the above video, Rodriguez didn’t go into a lot of detail, but his brief answers will probably keep conversation going about all three topics.

Taz jokingly checked to make sure Alberto made it into the building without incident, “it’s nice to see you made it into the building, nobody attacked you out front with a baseball bat, right, no one attacked you with like a tire iron... you good?”

Rodriguez joked he had Paige with him, to protect him, and explained a little about what happened in San Antonio:

This is kind of a third version of event, but kind of in line with what he told Leonardo Riaño of Mexico’s Record. It doesn’t seem likely we’ll ever get to the bottom of the different versions of the story, especially as he seems to be done talking about it.

Conversation then moved to Paige’s suspension, which Taz described as “a little funky”. The ECW legend said he respected Paige’s honesty in her response, and alluded to seeing a “double standard” during his own dealings with WWE. Given the mic, Rodriguez responded:

He alse used that as a chance to again address anyone who has an issue with he and Paige’s relationship:

You can see the whole video above. They go on to discuss Alberto’s work on the indies since leaving WWE, especially in Paige’s native United Kingdom, and his plans to work in mixed martial arts with Combate Americas (nothing was announced, but El Presidente did plug a V.I.P. press conference for this evening).
