Rumor Roundup (Sept. 29, 2015): NXT on Raw, WWE Security, Goldust, Rob Van Dam, more!

WWE.com

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • There was a proposal on the table in 2014 to dedicate a portion of each Raw each week to NXT stars and storylines, according to Bryan Alvarez at Wrestling Observer. Though is was obviously shot down, who supported and rejected it, and why, is interesting to speculate on in light of the backstage power struggle talk.
  • Speaking of NXT and the main roster, word is that Dustin "Goldust" Runnels may be doing more in Developmental than just crowning the winner of the tournament held in his father's honor at the next TakeOver.
  • In light of events such as the one that happened at Night of Champions before the Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose vs. The Wyatt Family match, WWE is beefing up security at all of its live shows. Fans at house shows in the Northeast this weekend commented that there appeared to be more guards at ringside than at past events.
  • Rob Van Dam shot down rumors of a WWE return at a recent convention appearance, even though he says he feels great and could do a run at anytime. Of course, there are reports that that's exactly what he would say if he were planning his long speculated on retirement tour with the company.
  • TNA has been trying to generate interest for Sunday's Bound for Glory pay-per-view (PPV) on social media, including Pope teasing a new addition to his commentary team with Josh Mathews and Dixie Carter saying she may make "big" last minute changes at the top of the card.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
