Rumor Roundup (Sept. 17, 2015): The Rock WWE return, Lana-Rusev reunion, Sheamus cash-in, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Rumors for the Day:

• Here's a fun one: There's now talk of The Rock possibly being Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose mystery partner at Night of Champions. Don't count on that one.

• The Observer is reporting that there is "already serious talk" within WWE of ending the current storyline with Rusev, Summer Rae, Lana, and Dolph Ziggler and putting Rusev and Lana back together. The idea, apparently, is that the angle has only hurt both Rusev and Lana and they'll be better off back together.

• With Sheamus not booked at Night of Champions, there's new speculation that he might cash in to win the title. If that's the plan, they could be going with the idea of a Sting victory before transitioning to a Sheamus feud with Seth Rollins.

• According to PW Torch, WWE was already a bit fed up with Hulk Hogan and didn't want to deal with him anymore before the racism stuff came up. Ultimately, it was an easy call, then, to dump him once it came out.

• The Young Bucks are apparently close to signing a new deal with Ring of Honor, according to the Observer.
