Rumor Roundup (Sept. 12, 2015): Sting, Randy Orton, Night of Champions, TNA's future, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Sting will be back on Raw this upcoming Monday, according to PWInsider. No word on what he'll be doing on the go home show for next Sunday's Night of Champions pay-per-view (PPV) or if the Memphis crowd will see him in the arena - unlike last week in Baltimore.
  • Reports were flying around yesterday that the Wyatt Family's assault of Randy Orton was a way to right him off so he could begin the lighter schedule he is rumored to have requested. While it may still be a television write-off, Orton is booked at this weekend's house shows, which are near Raw in Tennessee, so we can't rule him out as Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose's mystery partner yet.
  • In line with yesterday's rumors about the PPV, betting lines have Seth Rollins as a big favorite over Sting in his WWE championship match and a big underdog for his U.S. title bout with John Cena.
  • Concerned about the lack of Latino star power, and allegations of racism that swirled around Alberto Del Rio/El Patron's 2014 departure, WWE is stacking the cards for their October tour of Mexico with big names like Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Ric Flair as a guest GM (a role Hulk Hogan might have filled before his scandal & exit) and possibly Shawn Michaels.
  • Impact Wrestling is still showing up on internal Destination America schedules past the end of September, which could mean they're re-negotiated a lesser deal with the channel to stay on U.S. cable boxes. With nothing scheduled to be filmed however, October episodes would likely be extra matches filmed at their last taping or greatest hits/clip shows.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
