Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- As of now, the plan is apparently for Undertaker to get his win back over Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam and it could be what leads to another match at WrestleMania next year.
- It does look like they're going to do a Green Arrow vs. Stardust match at SummerSlam, though it's likely they'll add some parts to it to help with booking. Stephen Amell cancelled an appearance at a convention center in Chicago the day of the show, so he'll be there in some capacity either which way.
- Swerved is scheduled to return to WWE Network next Monday, August 10. This appears to be the company burning off the remaining initial batch, however, as complaints from talent and fears of diminishing returns when wrestlers know to be on the lookout for more elaborate pranks, means their won't be more episodes produced.
- Bayley was teasing a Raw appearance last night ahead of the show in her hometown of San Jose. Her road to a title shot at TakeOver: Brooklyn probably puts her call-up farther down the line, but Dana Brooke was working house shows with Emma over the weekend - leading to speculation that she could get transitioned out of Full Sail to let Eva Marie be the featured fitness model fighting for respect character on NXT.
- Reports from the marathon tapings TNA did in Orlando included a couple of segments where Jeremy Borash interacted with a guy in a Bigfoot costume. This is almost definitely a tie-in to shows like Killing Bigfoot and Mountain Monsters that now come on before Impact. Some reports said that these were just commercial promotions, others said that a major TNA star was wearing the costume as part of a potential angle.
