Rumor Roundup (Aug. 26, 2015): Night of Champions plans, Seth Rollins, Wade Barrett, Wyatt Family, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • According to the Observer, WWE hasn't officially made the decision to do so yet but it's possible Seth Rollins pulls double duty at Night of Champions and defends his US title against John Cena before also defending the WWE world heavyweight title against Sting.
  • Wade Barrett caused a big uproar on Twitter when he changed his display name to his real name, Stu Bennett, and tweeted about "heading home. Not a moment too soon." WWE is currently maintaining there has been no change in his status with the company. He may be taking time off to film a movie.
  • Apparently Braun Strowman was the guy WWE had in mind for the third man in The Wyatt Family for the previously planned six-man tag match at SummerSlam but obviously held off on it.
  • WWE is apparently extremely disappointed with the ratings for Raw this week and if the numbers don't rebound next week we could see something drastic. It does generally take a week to catch up after unadvertised surprises like this past Monday.
  • The word is that Stephanie McMahon and Triple H did indeed go off script to sing happy birthday to Vince on Raw and he wasn't thrilled with it.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
