Rumor Roundup (Aug. 20, 2015): Stone Cold at SummerSlam, NXT TakeOver winners, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Steve Austin's role at SummerSlam this weekend is said to be limited to WWE 2K16 promotional work. There are still no plans for him to appear on Sunday night's pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network broadcast.
  • Bets on WWE PPVs are usually taken by international bookies, but it looks like fans will be able to wager on NXT for the first time this Saturday. Early lines have Finn Bálor, Bayley & Baron Corbin as big favorites, with Tyler Breeze and Blake & Murphy as little better than even money to win.
  • Gambling sites are also taking bets on next Tuesday's Tough Enough finals, with Josh and Sara Lee both favored to win a WWE contract.
  • TNA announced a number of live shows for the fall around their October Bound for Glory PPV. While supporters say this is a good sign for their future prospects, many are claiming that they're 'sold shows' (paid for in advance by a third party such as a baseball team or a State Fair) and don't tell us much either way about the company's health.
  • Another Mick Foley special is being filmed this weekend from one of his stand-up specials, and its expected to land on WWE Network as original content soon.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
