USA Today just broke the news that WWE has landed a pretty big star to host SummerSlam this weekend in Brooklyn.

No, it's not those Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson rumors that Roman Reigns has been floating. In a lot of ways, it's a bigger coup for the Stamford, Connecticut-based company that craves mainstream acceptance and credibility as more than just "rasslin'".

According to the report, Jon Stewart's first gig since stepping down from his award-winning sixteen year run as the host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show will be as the host of this Sunday, August 23's four hour pay-per-view (PPV) broadcast.

Stewart is a big pro wrestling fan who keeps up with the product while watching with his 11 year old son. He famously engaged in a program with then-Money in the Bank briefcase holder Seth Rollins this past Spring, taking the future WWE champ apart verbally before escaping physical punishment with a well-placed kick.

The hosting job on PPVs, and WWE shows in general, has a dubious track record. But most of the best guest starring roles, like Stewart's in and Stephen Amell's last week, have been put in by fans.

Here's hoping the 160 pounds of balsa can build on his already entertaining WWE run of 2015 this Sunday.
