For all the talk of his weight, Kevin Owens sure is keeping busy in the ring.
Indeed, during tonight's episode of SmackDown it was announced that he will have a match against Cesaro at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view scheduled Sun., Aug. 23, 2015, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. That's just one night after he will challenge Finn Balor for the NXT heavyweight championship at the Takeover: Brooklyn event in the same building.
Cesaro and Owens have been feuding for a few weeks over the two repeatedly getting involved in US title matches with John Cena, namely the fact that the Swiss Superman would have won the strap on multiple occasions had "KO" not interfered.
Good enough for a match, right? And surely a dark horse to steal the show, yes?
Here's the updated SummerSlam match card:
- Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
- Seth Rollins vs. John Cena
- Ryback vs. Big Show vs. The Miz
- Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper
- Team Bella vs. Team B.A.D. vs. Team PCB
- Prime Time Players vs. New Day vs. Los Matadores vs. Lucha Dragons
- Stephen Amell & Neville vs. Stardust & King Barrett
- Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens
