WWE NXT TakeOver coming to Brooklyn the night before SummerSlam (August 22, 2015)

Well, Triple H wasn't lying.

More than just an NXT house show, WWE is bringing their Network-exclusive promotion's version of a pay-per-view (PPV), the TakeOver live show, to New York City on SummerSlam weekend. August 22, 2015 will be the first time an NXT live show has been broadcast on WWE Network from anywhere other than their Full Sail Live home in Winter Park, Florida.

The 18,000 seat Barclay's Center will also be the biggest venue NXT has played in its history.

The show will emanate from Barclay's Center, the same venue that will be hosting WWE's PPV on Sunday, and just about ten miles away from Ring of Honor (ROH)'s Field of Honor event that will be happening that same night at Brooklyn's MCU Park.

Rumors indicated that ROH was aware that this could occur and are trying to stack their show accordingly. And they did arrange to bring New Japan Pro Wrestling mega-stars Shinsuke Nakamura and Kazuchika Okada in for that date. It's unclear if the Sinclair Broadcasting-owned company was aware that they'd be competing with an event show like a TakeOver as opposed to a NXT house show, however. While certainly not the only factor behind the scheduling, this does seem like an aggressive move from WWE against a smaller player who recently stepped up to national cable television distribution.

Tickets for the seventh NXT live event on WWE Network will be on sale via TicketMaster on July 18 at 12PM Eastern.

Which of you lucky bastiches is going? And what are your thoughts on the latest move by Triple H to turn his baby into a full-blown competitor on the scene?
