Rumor Roundup (July 21, 2015): SummerSlam plans, Sting, Roman Reigns, Undertaker, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • According to the Observer, the original plan for SummerSlam was Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Sting taking on the reunited Wyatt Family. Then, Erick Rowan suffered an injury. They could still be planning on having Sting join up with Reigns and Ambrose to take on Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and a third member.
  • It's also being said that part of the reason WWE is putting Reigns in a tag match at SummerSlam is because it's in Brooklyn and the hope is he won't be booed if he's alongside babyfaces that crowd will want to cheer. We'll see how that works out.
  • Apparently Undertaker is scheduled for the WWE tour of Mexico in October, so he may be working past SummerSlam.
  • In addition to the live two hour NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event, WWE is apparently considering taping an episode of NXT television at the Barclays Center the night before SummerSlam.
  • On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, it was noted that the reason we're seeing so many apron spots in WWE lately is a direct response to Ring of Honor.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
